This seminar introduces students to the study of international organizations. The first part of the seminar is dedicated to discussing the topics of international law relevant to the constitution and functioning of international organizations. The second part discusses international courts and the international dispute settlement system, such as war crime tribunals and the European Court of Justice. The third part introduces students to international economic organizations, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Tarde Organization (WTO), and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). The final part of the seminar discusses the theories of regional integration and briefly examines three regional organizations from Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
