The apparent need of our learners to develop into competent members of a digitally-linked society includes a well-founded use of digital technologies in the English classroom. For this purpose, the federal state of M.V. has created an online-learning platform for teachers consisting of interactive materials mainly designed for usage on the smart board.
In this seminar, you will first explore the various platforms with regard to its different materials and possibilities. We will discuss how you can use the given materials in your English lessons and furthermore you will explore how to create your own interactive materials, thus serving the specific needs of your future learning groups via the "Mastertool", a digital worksheet creator. This tool will be a true treasure for your daily work at school.
After this technical introduction, your newly gained knowledge will be put into practice: You will choose a few materials from the platform that you are asked to criticise and subsequently complement with competency- and communication-oriented tasks. Thereby, you will not only enlarge your own media-didactic repertoire but also play an important part in supporting teachers in M.V. by equipping them with up-to-date online materials for classroom and online sessions. At the end of the seminar, you will get the opportunity to try out your materials on the smart board in the Lernwerkstatt to receive helpful feedback from your fellow seminar participants.
