In this seminar we are going to deal with the challenges when teaching advanced level students. We will start by looking at the curriculum and the regulations for both written and oral exams, and then become practice-oriented. In doing so, we will focus on the following questions: How are competencies constantly developed and how can we integrate the teaching of grammar and vocabulary? What do modern textbooks look like? Where can you find suitable authentic texts, videos etc. and how can a teacher make them accessible for their learners, also using digital tools? How do you cope with literature, especially novels? Last but not least, we will discuss aspects of assessment and combine them with practical exercises.
