Course description:

You are sitting in front of a huge (meta)proteomics search results table, containing tons of information about your system of interest, and are wondering how to actually get the information out of there? This course will get you started! Many of the general concepts and approaches discussed in this course are applicable also to other -omics datasets.

  • This course is open to all interested members of the university (students & scientific staff)

  • It's an online course

  • Course language is English

After this course, you will have gained knowledge about

  • compositional datasets

  • what to do with zeros – zero imputation

  • data normalization, data transformation

  • data exploration – clustering, NMDS plots

  • find biomarkers/significant differences between groups using machine learning with ensemble learning methods (random forests, gradient boosting)
