The aim of the seminar is to analyse a dataset in groups (maximum of three) using machine learning methods with R or Python, e.g. to predict house prices or to identify fake news.

The workload consists of preparing a group report (approx. 15 pages) using Quarto, which must include a description of the method, a quantitative analysis and a discussion, as well as the programming source code.

The results are presented in a group presentation. Previous knowledge of a programming language such as R or Python is not a prerequisite for participation, but recommended. For those with no programming experience, it is highly recommended that you attend the Data Science 101 lecture and tutorial for the first three to four weeks.

On 15.04.2024, 16:00h, the first meeting will be held for topic allocation and organisation via zoom
