International relations among various state and non-state actors are increasingly interdependent. The seminar will explore the political and economic dimensions of globalization. By considering major theoretical developments and recent empirical studies we will get a more thorough understanding of the interplay of economic and politics in the international arena. We will investigate domestic and international conditions for more cooperation in trade and other forms of economic exchange, the role of economic interdependence on the generation and distribution of wealth as well as political answers that international institutions might offer. Special focus will be on relations with developing countries.
